Hi everyone, it's Eve Angeline here, at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at our Saris Bones EX 2 Bike trunk mounted bike rack, right here on our 2011 Ford Fusion. So, you have your Ford Fusion, and you wanna take your bikes out. Now, while I usually recommend if you can, get a hitch mounted bike rack, while if you don't yet have a hitch on your Ford Fusion or you can't get one, that's where your trunk mounted bike rack like this comes in handy. And since you have a spoiler, or if you have a spoiler on your sedan, you are gonna have a very limited selection of bike racks that can sit around them. So, it's really nice to see that the Saris Bones EX 2 is compatible. So, this is the Saris Bones EX 2, we can also get this as E 3. more

Thule Passage Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ford Taurus

Today on our 2014 Ford Taurus, we'll be testing the Thule Passage Trunk Mounted Two Bike Rack, Part number TH910XT. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bottom part of the truck rack onto the upper tier of the rear bumper. Now, we'll need to set the fit down to number 8, which is customized to fit the trunk. We'll need to remove the two black wing nuts on the inner left and right hand part of the bike rack. We'll raise the top arms up, lining up the holes in fit dial, and then re-installing the wing nut. We can now put the top clips on the upper edge of the trunk, and then the side clips on the side of the trunk just above the tail lights, as well as the bottom clips to the bottom part of the trunk. Now you will need to open up the trunk to get the side and bottom clips in place. You want to tighten down the left hand side and the right hand side just a little bit at a time to make sure the rack stays centered on the trunk. more

Speaker: Today on our 2014 Ford Taurus, well be test fitting the Yakima QuickBack Trunk Mounted 2 Bike Rack, part number Y02621. Well begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicles trunk, making sure the bottom part of the bike rack is on the upper tier of the rear bumper and the top part of the bike rack is on the center of the trunk. Well take the top clips and hook them on the top part of the trunk, the side clips to the side part of the trunk above the taillights and the bottom clips to the bottom part of the trunk. Well then tighten down the straps to secure the trunk rack to the vehicle. Now when tightening them down, you want to tighten down each side a little bit at a time, just to make sure the bike rack stays centered. Once everything is all tightened down and secured, well secure the excess strap with the included strap keep. We can now loosen up the red knob on the upper right-hand corner of the bike rack and swing out our cradle arms, keeping in mind the cradle arms do need to be level or slightly angled up. Once theyre in position, we can tighten on the red knob and secure them in place. more

Thule Gateway Trunk Mount Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ford Taurus

Today on our 2014 Ford Taurus, we will be test fitting the Thule gateway trunk mounted 2 bike rack, part number TH9006XT. With the fit dial set to number 8, according to included instructions, we will being our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicles trunk, making sure the bottom part of the bike rack rests on the upper tier of the rear bumper, and the top part of the bike rack rests on the top part of the trunk near the rear window. With the bike rack in place, I'll take the top hooks and hook them to the top part of the trunk, and tighten down the silver cam 00:28 buckles. I'm not going to tighten the straps all the way, just using these to hold the bike rack in place. I then put the side hooks to the side part of the trunk above the taillights, and the bottom hooks to the bottom part of the trunk. Keeping in mind you may need to open up the trunk to get the clips in place. Once all 6 clips are in place, we will then tighten down the straps to secure the rack to the trunk. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Taurus, well be test fitting the Saris Bones Trunk Mounted Three Bike Rack in grey, part number SA801. Well begin our test by placing the bottom legs of the bike rack on the upper tier of the rear bumper. Well then need to adjust the top arms by loosening the black knob on the left and right hand side of the bike rack. Well make sure the top legs are about centered on the trunk. Once the knobs are loose, youll need to slide the legs off of the grooves so that you can rotate the leg to fit in position. Once you have them in position, you can tighten the black knobs to secure them in place.Now there are three types of clamps on this bike rack that are labeled. more

Today on our 2014 Ford Taurus, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Expedition Trunk Mounted 2 Bike Rack, part number HRF6-2. We'll begin our test fit by placing the bottom bar and the upper tier of the rear bumper. We'll then use the top set of black levers to adjust to fit the top bar to about the center of the trunk. We'll then lock down the levers to secure the top arm in place. We'll then take the top clips and hook them to the top bar of the trunk. The slide clips to the side part of the trunk just about the tail light. more

With the new top set of levers to adjust the bike rack to fit around the rear hatch.Now, the top portion of the bike rack should rest at about the middle of the rear window. Once weve established this position we can then clamp down the black plastic levers. Well then hook the top clips to the top part of the rear hatch, the side clips to the side part of the rear hatch, and the bottom clips at the bottom part of the rear hatch. more

We'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's rear hatch. The bottom portion of the bike rack should rest on the upper tier of the rear hatch, just below the license plate. The top portion should rest about the center of the rear window. Keep in mind when you using this bike rack you will not be able to use the rear windshield wiper. We'll now take the top clips to put it the top part of the rear hatch, and the bottom clips to the bottom of the rear hatch, as well as the side clips to the side part of the rear hatch. more

With the bike rack in position, we can take the top clips and put it to the top part of the rear hatch, as well as the side clips to the side part of the rear hatch, and the bottom clips to the bottom part of the rear hatch. We can now tighten down the straps and secure the bike rack to the vehicle. We'll now use the included hook-and-loop fasteners to secure the excess lock. With everything all tightened down and secure, we're ready to load up our bike. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Edge we'll be test fitting the Thule Raceway Trunk Mounted Two Bike Carrier, part number th9001. Now to begin our test fit we'll first need to refer to the Thule Fit Guide or the included instructions to determine what number our Fit Dial should be at. According to the Thule Fit Guide our Fit Dial should be set at nine.After setting our Fit Dial we'll place the carrier onto the vehicle. Again, referring to the Thule Fit Guide it states that our lower arm of the carrier should rest at the bottom of the license plate well. We'll go ahead and put the top hooks to the top part of the trunk above the spoiler and then we'll put the bottom hooks to the bottom part of the trunk.You may need to open up the cargo door to get the bottom hooks in place. Now we can go ahead and turn the knobs on the left and right hand side of the carrier to tighten down the straps to secure the carrier to our vehicle. more

Today on our 2012 Ford Fusion we're going to be test fitting the Yakima QuickBack 2 Trunk Mounted Bike Rack, part number y02621. To begin our test fit we'll go ahead and place the carrier on top of our trunk. We'll put the top hooks at the top part of the trunk, the side hooks to the side and the bottom hooks to the bottom part of the trunk.We'll tighten up all the straps and then we'll be ready to load our bike. To load our bike we'll open up the arms and make them level with the ground or slightly inclined. We'll go ahead and undo the cradle straps, fit our bike into the cradles and secure our bike to the rack by tightening each strap.Once we've done that our bike is all loaded up and we're ready to hit the road. We'll put the top hooks to the top part of the trunk and the bottom hooks to the bottom part of the trunk.Note that you may to need to open up your trunk to get your hooks into position. We'll then turn the gray knobs on the left and right hand side of the carrier to tighten down the straps securing the carrier to the vehicle. We'll then flip out the gray lever at the center of the carrier to swing the cradle arms out. more

Today on our 2012 Ford Fusion we'll be test fitting the Thule Archway Two Bike Carrier with Adjustable Arms, part number th9009xt. To begin our test fit we need to look in the instructions and to Thule's Fit Guide where we see that our FitDial needs to be set to eight. Once we have that set we'll go ahead and place our carrier on top of our trunk. We need to make sure that the lower arm of our carrier is positioned on the upper tier of the bumper.Then we need to place the top clips in the gap at the front edge of the top of the trunk. We'll place the lower clips in the bottom edge of the trunk and then we'll fit our side clips to the sides of the trunk. Once we have our clips in place and snugged down then we can go ahead and make our way around and secure each one until they're all tight. more

Well begin our test fit, by placing the carrier on top of our trunk. As we adjust the top part of our carrier, the arms of our carrier move as well. We want to make sure that our arms are either straight out or slightly angled up and then now, well give us the correct location for the top part of our carrier.Once we have that set, we can go ahead and lock the side clips into place. Well go ahead and take the top hooks and secure them to the part of the trunk. Well take the side hooks, put them on the side of our trunk and take the bottom hooks, and put them on the bottom of our trunk. more

To begin our test fit, were going to take our carrier and place it on top of our trunk. We want to take the top two straps and secure them at the top of the trunk.Well now go ahead and pull them snugged just to help us give the bike rack in place. Then well take the two side straps and secure them to the sides of our trunk. Then well move to the bottom straps and put them at the bottom of the trunk. Now we want to go around and make sure that theyre all snugged.With our bike rack secured, well now undo the clamps which will allow us to bring out the dual arms. more

Today, on our 2012 Ford Fusion, well be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Baja 2-Bike Carrier Trunk Mount, Part Number HRB2. To begin our test fit, well set the carrier on top of the trunk. If necessary, use the black levers located at the end of each carrier to adjust the jaws for a better fit. Once you have the correct fit, you can use the top two hooks to hook to the top of the trunk, the two side hooks to hook to the side and the two low hooks to the bottom of the trunk.It may be necessary to open the trunk just enough to get the hooks into place. Once you have all the hooks in place, we can go ahead and secure the carrier to the vehicle by tightening down each strap. Then well go ahead and secure the access lock. more

Well put the top hook to the top part of the cargo door, the side hooks to the side part of the cargo door just below the taillights and the bottom hooks to the bottom part of the cargo door. You may have to open your cargo door to get the bottom hooks in. Well then tighten down the straps to secure the carrier to the vehicle. We can then secure the excess slack with the included tie down points. more

Today, on our 2011 Ford Fusion, we'll be test-fitting the Thule Raceway Platform Style 2-Bike Carrier, part number TH9003. Now, to begin our test-fit, we've already gone ahead and set the bike rack up according to the guide found within the instructions of the Raceway. We'll place it on top of our deck lid and take the two top hooks and hook it to the deck lid just behind the rear window. We'll then snug the cables down using the grey knobs on either side. We can then take the bottom cables and hook it to the deck lid just above the rear bumper cover and again snug them down with the grey knobs. Once we have all four cables in place and snug, we can go ahead and tighten it down securing the bike rack to the vehicle. more
